Nothing in this outfit is vintage! This is crazy -- I don't believe this has ever happened before. Up is down, black is white, day is night; the world has been turned upside down. This just means that it is time for me to take a drive to my favorite vintage store of all time, Yoshi Now! in Fresno. Also, this outfit is black and blue, like a bruise.
Now, I will share with you something amazing:
Vogue Italia, via Things I Like

I always admire how you layer your jewelry and accessorize. Love when you post so I can see what you're wearing and be jealous.
ReplyDeleteThis editorial is awesome. Actually, I went the other night to hear the Vogue editor, Franca Sozzani, give a talk, and she spoke about this very editorial and the recent issues of Vogue Italia which made a point of featuring black models. She said all the models always look the same in the fashion world, and the beautiful black models never get enough attention as they deserve. I was sitting there thinking, "Yea! Go Franca!" Apparently this is a big innovation (and deviation), and Sozzani said she got a lot of criticism for it, but she went ahead with it anyway in spite of the negativity. Again, go Franca!
I love your outfit!! Your jewelery is amazing :-)

Yoshi NOW! is incredible, but they got really expensive :( Hope you found some great things though!
ReplyDeleteI adore your JC shoes. ;____; I could never afford anything from his line, at least not brand new. Maybe torn and battered on ebay.
ReplyDeleteThe photos for that Vogue Italia article are so adorable. The second to last page you posted gives me heavy Telephone video vibes though; the outfits are quite similar to something Gaga and Beyonce wore together in the latter part. (Why do I remember this...?)
Beautiful Madeline! Again I'm in love with ur rings! And omg, Ellen Von Umwerth is a true genious!

Why, hello, you adorable little bruise.
ReplyDeleteYour necklaces are lovely together like always, and that editorial is so so amazing. Beautiful colors, and the models are smiling/having fun!
Oh, and it looks like somebody at Vogue Italia finally actually realized that women of color are gorgeous.
Shit, high-fashion world! Are you like, planning on joining us here in 2011 now? Wowzers.
Madeline! I finally get to comment. I have been checking up with your blog since your first post, but I just now got a blogspot to actually tell you how amazing/inspiring it is to have someone who is on the "realistic" level of shopping! Your posts bring me little laughs with your quirky past-time humor and I thoroughly enjoy your blog. Keep it up!
