Sweater - LF, Dress - Thrifted and Hacked, Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell, Hat - Vintage, Purse - Vintage, Sunglasses - from eBay, Jewelry - Konstantino + Flea Market + Vintage
I was in the car, on the way to the airport to head off to NY, when I received a phone call that the jewelry I was having photographed never made it from Europe to the US, so the whole shoot needed to be postponed. It was such a shame; I had packed my suitcase so well that it would have made a Girl Scout cry. Thus, I have been in sunny Los Angeles this whole time, scheduled to head off to Las Vegas on Tuesday and to NY sometime in the middle of June. I bought myself this sweater at LF as a consolation prize, and have been wearing it nonstop whilst glaring at the still-packed suitcase in my dressing room. To unpack that thing now would be akin to throwing black paint on a Caravaggio or something.
One of my five favorite US cities to visit is Portland, Oregon (although I'm sure Portland, Maine is quite lovely, too). Portland reminds me of my hometown, Fresno, only much more everything. It's what would happen if the cool part of Fresno overran the whole town. In Portland, there lives a charming attractive couple whose individual components go by the names of Jess and Camille. Jess and Camille have just opened up their first shop there, called Reveille, and it is stunning!
They carry well-curated vintage and new labels like Seneca Rising, Stone Cold Fox, and Mr. Freedom. If you don't know about Mr. Freedom, that's a whole other post!
Also, Jess and Camille are just darling, wonderful people, so if you are in the area, I highly recommend checking out their shop!

ReplyDeletethat's kind of funny, i compare fresno and portland, all the time. sucks about your trip! but you will be there soon enjoying every bit:)
ReplyDeleteI love how you mixed dress with sweater. Great shoes and hat!
ReplyDeleteI felt my stomach turn when I read that the jewelery hadn't arrived. Is it an issue with not knowing where the jewelery is, or just a delay in its arrival? (One of my beloved ear cuffs had a tracking order and it arrived in Massachusetts before being rerouted out of the state and through two others before coming back to the same post office in Mass. No idea how that happened.) In either case, my fingers are crossed that it's all taken care of.
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit, by the way! You actually gave me an idea about how I could possibly wear this one certain dress I bought early this year that I instantly became indifferent to when I saw the quality of it in person. (It seemed a lot nicer on the website.) I never would have thought to wear a sweater over it! Also, so in love with your JC shoes. I'm kind of considering looking for second-hand Lanas on ebay or something...

You look soooo pretty in these. I love the sweater. That sucks about your New York trip, but at least it was postponed and not cancelled? IDK. I keep meaning to visit Portland, my BFF moved there over a year ago and I have yet to go. The couple who owns that store are veryyy pretty and I love her dress.
